B3 Group Honored by Department of Labor’s HIRE Vets Medallion Program
November 8, 2018 (Herndon, Va.) – B3 Group, Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) health IT and PMO firm for the federal government, has received the HIRE Vets Medallion Program Demonstration Award from the Department of Labor (DOL). This is the first year that the DOL has bestowed this award, which recognizes businesses that recruit, employ and retain veterans.
B3 Group holds multiple contracts with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and employs 55 veterans. In addition to focusing on veteran success internally, the company serves other veterans through its corporate social responsibility initiatives and has established mentor-protégé partnerships with two local companies that also hold SDVOSB certifications.
“We are honored to receive this award and be part of its inaugural year,” said Dwight Hunt, B3 Group president and CEO. “Our team thrives because of the many talented veterans in our ranks, and we are proud to support men and women who have served our nation.”
The DOL established this program under the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act, or HIRE Vets Act, which was signed into law on May 5, 2017. Winners are chosen based on a variety of criteria including percentage of veterans hired and retained, provision of programs and resources to support veteran employees and implementation of human resources policies that support the goal of hiring and retaining veterans.
